| All about my experience...bad experience actually.. I'm working as a teacher so that's means I have a big responsibility to my students. So when our students not interested to listen our lecture or break the rules it makes us angry. So they will tell everything to their parents about it.Tomorrow just waiting parents come and attack us..is it fair for person like us(teacher) ..give u'r opinion dude.. |

| hehehe... "sepaklogi" may be what u wish for when ur dealing with delinquents... but they are still young, tend to be rash and irrational sometimes... the best way i think is azfa's "be patient" technique.. after all these rude students were trusted to you by their parents, hoping that the teachers can help them become a good person that one day can be an asset to this country. |

| want to join! want to join!! as i'm in Japan, i could feel how rapid and terrible my english level is dropping! help me!! u can see how 'japanized' my english is!
well back to the topic, i would like to share my experience as a lecturer (teacher also) at a local univ. about 60-70% of students in my class was chinese. (we know that there are higher/special allocations for malay at local universities, yes maybe in reality there are, but sadly we cannot find that patern in engineering or science faculties. )
what i want to share here, the chinese stndts behavior compared to the rest (malay). they are excellent, of course, coz they cannot easily enter local univ, and with 60-70% existence, they dominate the class about 90%. they positively gaining the knowledge, while the 'selected' malay stdnts.. in their group at the back corner, still searching which page i was refering but with mouth shut. never dare to ask!
that's one thing. another thing is.. when graduated and get job, normally their parents will send email to the teacher, expressing their gratitude. sometimes the student himself send email, and some student even wish to keep in touch with the teacher. i love that kind of student, no matter of their race, but i'm sad coz it's hard to have such malay student. :(
and the question here.. how does this phenomena happen? maybe u teachers can answer me. maybe some of u also have experience teaching non-malay stdnt... how is the phenomena at primary or secondary school? |

We need to listen to their opinions & views or problems that they've been hold in for too long. Over here social behaviour also play a major problems. Now alot of parents (muslim community)prefer to send their kids to islamic school instead to state school but. but that's life over here.My opinion is not the school is the problem is the parents! They have to learn to listen, get involved with the childrens school homework, communications and more important is consistent decipline! ;) The behaviour of our children is a reflection from our behaviour :) |

| Salams everyone, this is a great topic to dig ur teeth into.
it's not easy being a parent nor the teacher these days. what more the students are not like during those yesteryears. I guess technology has been the part of it. Now everyone is intune to what's going on ... not just the elders but also the younger ones. I totally agree that we have to listen to our children but that does not mean that we just listen without analysing what our children says. Is not that we don't trust what they say but as an adult we have the capacity to judge and be more analytical. we also must make a stand for what we know is right.
Simultaneously, as parents we to must make an effort tounderstand those in the teaching profession. they're are teaching probably an average of 30 students so tell me how are you to deal with 30 antics of students compared to a parent who probably have to deal with the average of 3-4 kids. So parents be a bit sensible. Another thought, jts because your career is better then the teacher does not mean you are superior than the teacher who teaches your kids in school... so everyone respect each other yeah!!! |
